1920, Rubine Levine
Herbert Levine's father and Bill Levine's grandfather, Rubine Levine is pictured on the North Side of Endicott in 1919, where he is calling on customers in their homes Rubine came to the Triple Cities to begin his own jewelry career when he learned that Endicott Johnson Shoe Co employed 20,000 shoe workers. Most of the workers were immigrant newcomers to the US, like himself. Rubine could talk to them in their native tongue, since he spoke 8 languages. His honesty and fair dealing led the way for his son and grandson to follow in his footsteps


1942, Van Cott Jeweler, 14 Court Street
Original location, established 1914, purchased by Kenneth Van Cott from Arthur Leonard.


1946, Van Cott Jeweler, 39 Court Street,
New location and newly remodeled
Herbert Levine, formerly from Endicott, New York, purchased Van Cott Jeweler from Kenneth Van Cott in 1969


1975, Van Cott Jewelers, Oakdale Mall
Herbert R. Levine, Graduate Gemologist and past President of the American Gem Society, opens second Van Cott Fine Jewelry location in Johnson City, New York.

1975, Van Cott Jewelers, Oakdale Mall Grand Opening
With distinguished guests and staff, Van Cott Jewelers was the first fine Jewelry store in the Oakdale Mall. All eyes are focused on the elegant Waterford Chandelier selected by Herbert and Elaine Levine while visiting the Waterford Crystal Factory in Ireland.

1979, Van Cott Jewelers welcomes the next generation
Bill Levine, former Gemological Institute of America Diamond Instructor, returns to assist his father in running the Van Cott stores. Birdie Rosen Levine, Certified Gemologist Appraiser and Custom Design Artist, and Bill's new bride joins the management of the family business.


1993, Van Cott Jewelers, Town Square Mall
Van Cott Jewelers moves to Vestal, New York from 39 Court Street, becomes a landmark and the leading Jewelry Store in the Town Square Mall


2007, Newly Renovated Van Cott Jewelers, Oakdale Mall
Still the finest Jewelry store in the Johnson City, featuring Mikimoto Pearls and a new Diamond Engagement Ring and Bridal Center. Bill and Birdie Levine are proud to present their beautifully renovated Oakdale Mall store.
